Our Tunbridge Wells resident client had been through a lengthy and acrimonious divorce. She had managed to retain control of her business, but the financial settlement agreement meant that she had a substantial deferred payment to make in order to finally conclude matters. We became involved when a further dispute emerged when it was alleged that the agreement had been breached and the final settlement therefore became due immediately.

Our work involved valuing the business, advising on tax issues, working with the solicitors and barrister, assisting with raising finance and supporting our client through this difficult time. A key part of our role was to ensure that focus was maintained on the final objective of securing the business and not the host of other issues which arose during the proceedings.

The final outcome was that our client paid substantially less than originally agreed and has secured her business which is now going from strength to strength.
