"I qualified as a certified accountant in 2001 and undertook the role of audit manager before deciding to specialise in tax consulting.

I qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) in November 2003 gaining the Spofforth medal for achieving the highest mark for the paper on the taxation of individual, trusts and estates. I was extremely lucky to have the full support of both Nigel and Stuart in my decision to specialise in tax consulting and feel that I repaid this support by my determination and dedication.

Since qualifying, I have been advising on all aspects of tax, including personal aspects such as inheritance tax planning and corporate planning including business restructuring. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to explore into the more complex aspects, such as VAT and stamp duty land tax and the implications that arise thereafter.

It has been rewarding to be in a position to be able to give the trainees a general oversight into taxation, and guide them towards a career path they may choose to specialise in.

Gaining my qualifications involved a lot of hard work, but has opened up numerous interesting and rewarding opportunities on a part of the team at Wells Associates".

"I decided on a career in accountancy whilst studying for my 'A' levels and joined the firm as a trainee Certified Accountant in the summer of 2002.

I had the choice to go to University, but decided against it as I wanted practical, real life experience of the profession. I have been able to combine my work at Wells with the studying to progress my accountancy career and as of October 2007 qualified as a Certified Accountant.

I enjoy the working environment at Wells Associates and the variety of business issues and queries that come from our clients. It is a great team environment where everyone has specialist skills to offer. My own interest in management accounting means that a lot of my time is spent working directly with clients to assist in the preparation of their management accounts.

Now that I have qualified as a Certified Accountant I shall continue to build on my existing knowledge and experience and use this in the area in which I specialise, our Business Support Service."

I started work for Wells Associates in April 2008 as an administrative assistant. Whilst happy in my work, I began to think about gaining some book keeping qualifications. The opportunity presented itself a year later when a vacancy arose in the book keeping department. I successfully applied for the position and became a trainee accounting technician. This new role has suited me very well and I have been able to acquire much practical knowledge and gain experience at the same time.

Wells Associates give their employees the chance to develop their abilities and in the near future I hope to start the AAT course which will help to further improve my knowledge.

I look forward to a happy and successful future within Wells Associates

Accountancy had always been a career which I wanted to pursue. I studied A level accountancy at college and thoroughly enjoyed the course. My hardest decision was whether to continue my studies at university or join a firm and gain a more hands on experience. I had the opportunity to join Wells Associates as a trainee Certified Chartered Accountant and I haven't looked back since. I was made to feel very welcome and am now part of a great team.

I hope to qualify as a Certified Chartered Accountant in 2011. During this time I will have a clearer idea of what department I would like to specialise in and can take advantage of the rewarding opportunities available to me at Wells Associates.
